The Wagner girls and their family enjoy beer, brats, and a boatload of fun on tour in Germany, Switzerland & Austria
Growing up along the Ohio River in the small town of Follansbee, West Virginia, sisters Jill and Jody had a wonderful childhood. The Wagner girls had plenty of time to play outside, become proficient at many board games, and read lots of books. This was convenient as the library was directly across the street from their home. They both enjoyed the adventures of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, but also loved stories of the Arabian Nights, Grimm's Fairy Tales, and any adventure involving beautiful princesses, glorious castles, and imaginary beasts. Reflecting back on those treasured years, they can even recall belonging to a book club. Their book club was not a traditional book club with all members engrossed in the same novel discussing plot lines and character's motives. Instead, their book club involved each friend reading her personal selection while lying on a beach towel in someone's back yard. Although this is not the usual way to delve into literature, it did serve to foster a lifetime love of reading and learning.
As daughters of a steel mill worker, vacations were few but fun. Pictured above are Jill and Jody on their "adventure of a lifetime' - visiting our nation's capitol in Washington, D.C. As you can see, the girls are wearing their sweaters on a fine summer morning. Their Mom was insistent that you needed an additional layer in the morning and those sweaters were certain to come in handy when touring the wax museum. Recently, Jill and Jody were able to quench their thirst for knowledge (and maybe a little beer), explore the treasures and castles of Europe, and even find their roots in Germany on their new "adventure of a lifetime" with their husbands and children on the Germany, Switzerland, and Austria tour.

A Six Pack to Go - A Bit About the Ball & Woisnet FamiliesTaking a tour through an area where beer is quite popular, traveling as a 6-pack would seem quite natural. The six members of the Ball and Woisnet families love to travel together and a trip abroad is the ultimate vacation. The Wagner sisters, Jill and Jody, grew up in West Virginia as did their husbands Lex and Rick. Lex and Jill are still West Virginia residents and live in Morgantown, home to West Virginia University. They enjoy the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as they cheer on the WVU Mountaineer sports teams. A career in pediatrics called Rick (and Jody) to Ohio, where they set up their home in the Akron area. Their daughter, Elyse, and her black Lab-Collie mix, Trixie, live a few towns away. They spend many summer evenings at Bow Wow Beach where Trixie has been perfecting her dog paddling skills. Rick and Jody's son, Justin, does not live a few towns away or even a few states away as he is attending Oxford University. Justin enjoys rock climbing and is a marathon runner with plans to run the London Marathon this spring. A trip to Europe in the summertime affords the family an opportunity to travel and visit with Justin.
